Technical Department
Introduction:
The Liquid Heaven dive facility has a state of the art Air Flow Analyzer / HP Manager that allows the technicians to tune a regulator to factory specifications. Verifying the performance of a diving regulator after it has serviced could be the most important testing procedure conducted on a regulator. It is estimated that a regulator is completely overhauled (full disassembly, assembly, and adjustment) an average of 5 times. This means the service technician is the last line of defense for the consumer regarding regulator performance 83% of the time. It is critical that the service technicians have the equipment and knowledge to analyze key performance features of the regulator at the completion of the maintenance phase.

Definitions:
The overall testing procedures described in this section is called Regulator Performance Verification (RPV). RPV is defined as: Procedures for the critical evaluation of a diving regulator at atmospheric pressure, including intermediate pressure, cracking effort, high flow, and venture flow. There are several points of this definition that require clarification:
- Atmospheric Pressure: All testing procedures are conducted at atmospheric pressure (approximately 15 psi) in an air environment.
- Intermediate Pressure (IP) The term "intermediate pressure" includes the major output characteristics of the first stage. These characteristics include the maximum lockup pressure, intermediate pressure drift, and intermediate pressure drop at full purge.
- Cracking Effort: Cracking effort is defined as "minimum" amount of inhalation effort required to start air flow through the regulator.
- High Flow: High flow is the measurement of the maximum flow of the regulator if it is less than 25SCFM, or the inhalation effort required to produce a flow of 25 SCFM (standard Cubic Feet Per Minute).
- Venturi Flow: Venturi flow is defined as the effect of any "after flow" device, either fixed, adjustable or automatic, that modifies flow characteristics or inhalation effort.
Darryll's Law: "He who does not test exactly, does not test at all"
If you want extremely good breathing regulators, bring them to us for a tune up.

Drysuit
or wetsuit packages includes suit, regulator, octopus, triple
gauges, LP hoses, BCD, tank, boots, hood, gloves, weight
belt and gear bag. With
a full suite of tools and experienced staff on site, we are
able to repair most equipment locally with a minimum of delay.
We strive to provide a maximum of a one week turn around (usually 3 days)
time depending up on parts and service kit availability. We have Oxygen
cleaning
services available as well. The cost depends upon the item being serviced.
For example O2 cleaning a regulator combination of a 1st stage and two
2nd stages will typically add $45.00 to the cost of the service. Another
example
would be a Dual Inlet Isolating Manifold. This would cost an extra $45.00
as well ($15.00 ea per valve + the isolator).
The following is a list of the more common repairs and services we
provide with estimates - contact us info@diveliquidheaven.com for
an exact quote. Repair
estimates subject to change at the discretion of the technician.
